Legend Extracts Battery Kit

So, you thought you would make the big step of switching from flower to vaping your cannabis. It is a good choice as you will no longer have to deal with grinding up your bud, rolling it into a joint and then smoking it. Do you smoke it down as low as you can and eat the roach or save the stinky nub with all the others for rainy day recreation? What about the lingering smell, dead giveaway to all around you for long periods of time depending upon the strain. Vaping takes care of all of that for you.

Before you make the transition to vaping, there are a few things you need to do to take care of not only the cartridges, but your vape pen battery as well. If you follow these few simple rules, you will be able to enjoy your distillate cart right down to the last drop of its golden goodness.

Vape battery & cartridge care

Your vape pen is broken down into two (2) separate parts, and they both require considered attention if you don’t want to waste THC oil or needlessly replace the pen.

0.6 Cannabis Vape PensThe first part of your pen is called the battery or “batt”. The battery is just what it sounds like, it holds the charge that is needed to power the heating coil. As any electronic component it is advisable to keep your pen away from excessive heat and moisture. The moisture part is pretty obvious but just how much heat is excessive?

To prolong the use of the vape cartridges and battery, it Is best to think of any heat, other than heating the coil, as excessive. Carrying your pen & carts in a shirt pocket for long periods of time should be avoided. Leaving your pen in a glove compartment of a car on a sunny day should also be avoided as well. In fact, it would be best if you kept your vape pens in a cool, dry state whenever not in use.

The second part, the cart or cartridge, come in several varieties but one of the more common is the wick cartridge. It has CO2 oil contained in a chamber with a wick and heating coil. The coil heats the wick, vaporizing the oil soaking the wick and the vapors flow the chamber and into the mouthpiece.

THC Vape CartridgesThe cart, and the various components, are all held together with special adhesives that are quite strong but, they too are susceptible to heat. If the glue gets too warm it weakens the bond and slight pressure can break the seals. Once those seals are broken the carts can start to leak or worse, become unusable.

There are a few things you can do to ensure that you do not break your carts or the seals that hold them together.

    • Do not expose them to too much heat.
    • Do not apply too much pressure when attaching your cartridges to your bats
    • Do not over handle your carts/pens
    • Do not toss them into a purse or sports bag as the metal and glass can easily be damaged
    • Store your carts and pens upright as much as possible, perhaps in a penholder
    • If your cart develops a leak or the wick chamber separates from the glass chamber DO NOT glue it back together without using the proper adhesive
